Gackt's singles have been coming out at a slow pace over this year. His previous single, "ANOTHER WORLD", was the first released since his second album earlier in the year, and that was still more than three months prior to this release, "12-gatsu no Love song". "12-gatsu no Love song" (or "December Love song", for those of you who can't count months in Japanese) is a seasonal single, released around the holiday season to warm the hearts of fans. There is only one song on it, including also an instrumental version, but the single only costs 800 yen, so it is relatively cheap compared to most singles. If you're wondering just how seasonal the song is (since it's 'December' Love song instead of 'Christmas' Love song), actually it's probably more seasonal than you think. It seems possible that it could be more of just a winter song, but it really seems to be a Christmas song (the 'jingle bells' going along with the whole track make it pretty clear). It will probably feel out of season when played during January or the following months. This is a really beautiful, romantic, moderate-paced, emotional ballad. Everyone familiar with Gackt knows his emotional style is very dramatic, and entertaining. There is a full orchestral accompaniment throughout the song. It is also a very long song, at over 6 1/2 minutes. This is overall a very good song that should certainly be enjoyed by fans of Gackt. It probably won't be one of his best-remembered songs, since it is seasonal and it doesn't introduce anything very new to his repertoire. Still, it's a low-cost single that his fans will want to pick up for the heart-warming melody, fanatastic arrangement, and awe-inspiring performance. Even if it's not December anymore, you can still enjoy Gackt's intense, romantic sound.
